Old Masking Tape
Masking tape gets old in the shop and after a while it won't unroll very well.  This is especially true in cold weather.  As a remedy, I give a troublesome roll a 10- to 15 second zap in the microwave.

Installing Drawer Fronts
On European-style cabinets and other pieces with separate drawer fronts, install the doors and drawer boxes first.  Then, once the doors are adjusted properly, install the drawer fronts to match.  Put double-sided carpet tape on the fronts of the drawer boxes, and position of the drawer faces.  Once you have them stuck on, in the right positions, slide the drawers open and screw the faces on from inside.

Proper Lubrication
When lubricating the moving parts of woodworking tools, less is better.   Apply just one or two drops of oil to most joints.  If you apply too much, the excess oil will mix with sawdust and make an abrasive goo that causes moving parts to wear faster.  In dusty areas, you may want to use dry lubricants, such as silicone or graphite, to prevent this from happening.
